Green Tourism within an hour of central Tokyo
Experience Japan with your hands and taste.
Join a tour unlike the city.

Carefully cultivated tea leaves provide us with healing and vitality.

A superb experience awaits you, offering deep renewal for both mind and body amid Japan’s beautiful scenery.

Sayama tea is a traditional Japanese green tea grown in Saitama, Japan, with a history of about 800 years.
Because it is grown in a cold climate, its leaves become thicker and sturdier. Thicker leaves require a longer steaming process to soften them properly, and this extended steaming brings out a rich flavor and deep umami.

The taste is full-bodied yet smooth, with a clean aftertaste.
Sayama tea has a gentle aroma and has long been enjoyed in Japanese homes.
It is delicious both hot and cold.

From May to November, you will walk through wide green tea fields and enjoy hand picking of fresh tea leaves.
This special experienece lets you gently touch Japanese traditional culture living with nature.
You will also visit city museum exhibiting Sayama tea and learn about the history of tea in Japan.
For lunch, you will be served  with “TONKATSU” course, one of the best 10 Japanese cuisines among foreigners.
Enjoy relaxing and memorable day that you can experience only in the area.

Welcome to Tokyo!

Since my migration to the Sayama area, I have been a fan of Sayama tea, one of the top 3 Japanese green tea brands along with Shizuoka tea and Uji tea.

After 40 years of my business experience, I am now enjoying my slow daily life and enjoying Sayama green tea.

From my numerous visits to the Sayama tea plantation, I came to have deep knowledge about Sayama tea not widely known.

Just as Burgundy wines are defined by their specific vineyards, producers, and traditions, Sayama tea also has its own tea fields, processing methods, and dedicated tea shops. Tastes are different and unique one by one」Fortunately I could now partially master their differences.

Let’s enjoy with me as a navigator!

This Sayama Tea navigation service includes the fees for visits to navigator‑recommended tea farms that are too far apart to walk between, introductions to selected Sayama tea brands at those farms, and the tea‑picking experience(May – November), lunch, and museum admission.
However, the fee does not include any taxi services. All transportation during the tour is provided free of charge by the navigator’s private car.
If Miyano-en must close due to inclement weather (such as rain) or any other business reason, you have option to receive refund for $22.00 per person at the departure point on the tour day,or change itinerary to any other tea plantation available for tea picking without the refunds.

Tea leaves picking

Enjoy a hands-on experience picking fresh green tea buds from growing tea trees in a tea field run by a local tea plantation owner. Surrounded by vibrant green tea fields far from the city, you can relax and unwind in a peaceful natural setting.
After your picking experience, you are welcome to visit the tea shop next to the field. There, you can taste green tea made from the same variety of leaves you picked, crafted using the plantation’s unique processing method. If you find a tea you like, you may purchase it as a memorable souvenir of your visit.

Museum

You can learn about the history of Sayama tea and Art of tea at the Iruma City Museum, run by Iruma City, the main area of Sayama tea.

Lunch

For lunch, you will be served with ”TONKATSU” course.  That is fried pork and one of the top 10 Japanese cuisines among foreigners.
